1. Introduction
Football Today ("Football Today", "we", "us", or "our") provides a Chrome browser extension, website, landing pages, welcome pages, and related API services that deliver football scores, fixtures, standings, favorites, and related football information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use Football Today.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to provide, secure, operate, and improve Football Today.
2.1 Google sign-in and account information
If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive basic account information from Google, such as:
- Name or display name
- Email address
- Google account identifier
- Profile picture, if available
- Email verification status
We use Google OAuth for sign-in. We do not collect or store your Google password. We do not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Photos, or other Google content services. A temporary Google access token may be sent to our server only to verify your sign-in and create or maintain your Football Today session.
2.2 Extension installation and service access information
When the extension communicates with our services, we may collect technical and service-access information, including:
- A pseudonymous extension installation identifier
- Extension version, client mode, source, and similar client metadata
- Authentication and session information needed to secure requests
- Timestamps and service request metadata
- Football request context, such as selected league, fixture, season, date, date range, round, standings or fixtures route, and timezone
We use this information to operate the extension, return the right football data, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and understand whether the service is working correctly.
2.3 Website, landing page, and install-funnel analytics
When you visit our website, landing page, welcome page, or related install-flow pages, we may collect limited event information such as:
- Page view events
- Clicks on install or Chrome Web Store call-to-action buttons
- Campaign parameters, such as UTM source, medium, campaign, content, and term
- Referrer domain or host
- Page path and hash
- Pseudonymous page, journey, and event identifiers generated for a page visit or install-flow step
- Call-to-action placement and destination
- Post-install welcome metadata, such as install identifier, source key, client mode, and extension version
We use this information to understand whether the landing page is opened, how users arrive there, whether the install button is clicked, and whether the extension install flow is working.
For the website and install-flow pages, we do not use cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, browser fingerprinting, or third-party advertising tags to create persistent web analytics identifiers.
Our web attribution events are designed not to include full page URLs, full referrer URLs, page titles, email addresses, authentication tokens, install secrets, cookies, localStorage identifiers, sessionStorage identifiers, or browser fingerprints.
2.4 Extension usage, reliability, and permission signals
We may collect limited signals from the extension that help us operate and improve the product, including:
- Extension install, startup, lifecycle, and uninstall-related events
- Whether the extension panel is opened, active, hidden, or manually refreshed
- Approximate interaction and duration signals for product reliability
- Permission-related results, such as whether a requested Chrome permission was granted or denied
- Error, performance, diagnostic, and abuse-prevention signals
These signals are used to maintain the service, diagnose problems, improve product quality, and detect misuse. We do not use them to monitor the contents of websites you visit.
2.5 Favorites, preferences, and user settings
If you use favorites or account-based setup features, we may store information such as your selected favorite team identifiers, their order, and related preferences. Some settings may be stored locally in Chrome storage on your device, while account-based settings may be sent to our services so they can be restored or synced for your signed-in account.
2.6 Technical and security information
Like most online services, our servers and service providers may process technical information such as IP address, user-agent, request headers, timestamps, rate-limit signals, security logs, and error logs. Where appropriate, we may store hashes or reduced forms of some technical identifiers instead of raw values.
We use this information for security, fraud and abuse prevention, debugging, reliability, rate limiting, and legal compliance.
3. What We Do Not Collect
Football Today does not intentionally collect:
- Your Google password
- Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Calendar entries, Google Photos, or other private Google content
- The content of webpages you visit
- Your general browsing history
- Full URLs of non-Football Today pages you visit
- Persistent web analytics identifiers stored in cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage
- Browser fingerprints for analytics or advertising
- Payment card information
- Sensitive personal information that is not needed to provide the service
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use Google user data or extension usage data for advertising. We do not build advertising profiles from your use of Football Today.
4. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide football scores, fixtures, standings, favorites, and related features
- Authenticate users and maintain secure sessions
- Remember your preferences and account-based settings
- Operate landing pages, welcome pages, install attribution, and support pages
- Measure whether the website, install flow, and extension features are working
- Debug errors, monitor reliability, and improve product quality
- Prevent fraud, abuse, scraping, unauthorized access, and security incidents
- Communicate with you about service, account, security, or legal matters
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Service
Website and install-funnel analytics are used in aggregate to understand page views, install-button clicks, campaign performance, and install-flow reliability. They are not used to identify an individual person from a specific advertising campaign.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable, we process information based on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of the service, to provide extension, account, favorites, and football-data features you request
- Legitimate interests, to operate landing pages and install-flow pages, measure whether the install flow works, maintain security, prevent abuse, debug reliability issues, and improve Football Today
- Consent, where required by law for optional features or optional technologies
- Legal obligations, where we must retain, use, or disclose information to comply with applicable law
For website and install-funnel analytics, we rely on legitimate interests where permitted because the events are limited, first-party, do not use cookies or persistent browser storage identifiers, and are used to understand whether the landing page and install flow work.
6. Google OAuth and Limited Use
Football Today uses Google OAuth only for sign-in and account-related features. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will also follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements where applicable.
This means:
- We request only the Google account information needed for sign-in and user-facing account features
- We do not use Google user data for advertising
- We do not sell Google user data
- We do not transfer Google user data except as necessary to provide or secure the service, comply with law, or with your consent
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data except where necessary for security, support, legal compliance, or with your consent

We do not use third-party advertising tags, cross-site tracking pixels, or persistent web analytics identifiers stored in cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage for the website and install-flow pages.
We do not intentionally send your Google account profile, install secret, authentication token, payment information, or general browsing history to football data providers.
We require service providers to process information only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, to protect it appropriately, and not to use it for their own advertising or profiling purposes.
Third-party websites, platforms, and services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in limited circumstances:
8.1 Service providers

12. International Data Transfers
Football Today and our service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence. Those countries may have data protection laws that differ from the laws where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
